What is “the gear nerd”?

Hi, I’m Dave Rosenberg, the founder of the gear nerd. Engineer and Designer by day, outdoor and technology junkie by night. With all of these passions and hobbies comes a lot of gear. How much might you ask?
I currently have a 2014 Subaru Forester, a 2013 Ducati Monster 696, 5 bicycles, 4 pairs of skis, backpacking setup, 2 tents, car camping setup, tools for workshop, tools for car, tools for work, 3 laptops, 2 iPads, and 2 iPhones… and we’re just getting started. I strongly believe in the tools, not jewels philosophy, and try to enjoy and share all of my gear as much as possible. Many of my friends and family frequently ask me questions about what technology or gear to buy, and while I might not always know the best choice, but I’m still down to talk about it.
For those that love to geek out over the latest launches or that knife or watch that you love, this site is for you. Those of you that continuously remind me that I have more skis or bikes than feet, if you really want to stay, yes, this site is for you too. And yes, we will certainly help you identify if that item currently on sale at REI is the one we told you to buy 3 weeks ago or go take a look at the ski boots that your buddy’s buddy promises aren’t packed out. I’m sick of writing technical documents about robots all day, time to write with some unfiltered passion.
